Unfortunately the PSI Directive has not had a full impact in Sweden as many authorities impose conditions on re-use in direct violation of the PSI Directive such as that the information may not be re-used or that requests for re-use are not handled in a timely manner or that they continue to charge too high fees. Council approves deal on Public Sector Information (PSI) directive. On 6 February 2019, Member States’ Ambassadors confirmed the agreement between the Romanian presidency and the European Parliament on the revised Public Sector Information directive (PSI), which extends the scope of the rules on re-use of public sector information to research data. The PSI directive was reviewed in 2013 and over time it has turned from a competition instrument into a real open data instrument.
